November 21, 2016

Dimensions of Spirituality – Rosh HaShanah, Yom Kippur and Sukkot, is the first of two exchange exhibitions between the Jewish Art Salon and the Jewish Artists Initiative of Southern California. This inaugural collaborative exhibition, curated by Richard McBee and Aimee Rubensteen, presents 15 Jewish Art Salon member artists exploring the concepts of Jewish ritual, reflection and tradition.

Ranging from painting, photography and mixed media, the art on view will encourage viewers to become immersed in the richly varied themes of the High Holidays.  It is on view at the USC Hillel, 3300 N. Hoover St. Los Angeles, from August 15th through November 21st with a celebratory Reception on Wednesday, September 21st at 6:30pm.

IFAC is pleased to announce a solo exhibition of Los Angeles based artist Simone Gad.

Animaux Rescues, a series of 30 new works on paper which present expressive and
spontaneous portraits of rescued pets and offer a subtle metaphor on the human condition.
Gad’s dogs, cats, and bunnies, many found on rescued animal pages on the Internet, are
personally cathartic and a way for her to shelter the found images by incorporating
and immortalizing them into her work.

Kaleidoscope: A Celebration of Special Collections | Lowy Winkler | AJU
January 19, 2016
April 21, 2016

We at the Lowy-Winkler Family Rare Book Center are proud to highlight the multi-faceted collections in our holdings. They range from a large collection of bibles in over 65 languages to modern examples of fine Judaica printing. There are works saved from destruction in the Holocaust.

The Creation and Ezekiel stained glass windows were commissioned by the USC Caruso Catholic Center, Our Savior Church. Ruth Weisberg executed her designs at the Judson Glass Studios using a variety of painting, etching and enameling techniques.

Join us for a celebration of these beautiful windows, along with highlights from each of the unique collections at the Lowy-Winkler Family Rare Book Center at our upcoming receptions:

Opening: Sunday, January 31, 2016, 3:00 - 5:00 p.m.

or

Closing: Sunday, April 17th, 2016
