Become a Member

JAI welcomes visual artists in any medium with an exhibition history, as well as arts professionals (curators, critics, historians, and arts administrators). Membership is available at the $40, $80, and $120 level.

Membership in JAI allows eligibility for the following benefits:

• Participation in all events and programs
• Opportunities for inclusion in JAI Juried or Curated Exhibitions for Artist Members
• Referrals to curators and collectors, when appropriate for Artist Members
• Arts Professional members could be referred to venues or other possible client connections
• Your name linked to your website on our JAI Artist and Arts Professional member directories

Membership in JAI is juried, and we request that applicants follow the protocol below. Members must be Jewish, over 21 and live in Southern California.

To apply, please email admin@jaisocal.org and include:

• Your name, address, phone number and email address
• Artist statement/professional statement and CV or resume
• Brief statement of interest in JAI – why is being part of a Jewish arts organization important to you? (350 words max)
• Visual Artists: submit digital files (.jpg) of 8 full images, or links to online videos of performance art or installations
• Arts Professionals: submit examples of your work – digital files of or links to curatorial projects, events produced, or short excerpt of writings
• Links to your professional website and social media page(s) if desired, promoting your art practice
• When submitting your materials, please indicate you are applying as a Visual Artist, Performance Artist or Arts Professional
